Step 1: Clean the display thoroughly
Before you remove scratches on the phone screen, clean the whole display thoroughly with a damp microfibre cloth or a glasses cleaning cloth.

Step 2: Tape over any openings in the mobile phone
Now tape over all of the openings in the smartphone. These include the charging connection, SIM card slot, microphone, loudspeaker and, if available, also the microphone jack and the memory card slot.

Step 3: Apply toothpaste
Now apply a little toothpaste to the area of the mobile screen where you want to remove scratches. Caution: Do not use any toothpaste that has coarse particles. This may not remove the scratches on the phone screen but instead worsen them.

Step 4: Polish the mobile screen with toothpaste
Use a clean microfibre cloth to remove the scratches on the mobile screen. Polish the affected areas carefully but thoroughly with circular motions.

Step 5: Remove the toothpaste
Once you have polished your mobile screen with toothpaste, dampen a cloth, remove the toothpaste and take a look at the result. If everything hasn’t yet been polished smooth, repeat from step 3 until all of the scratches on the phone screen have been removed completely.
Remove scratches from a phone screen with baking powder
Another proven method of removing scratches from a phone screen uses baking powder.
First, mix the baking powder with water in a bowl to form a paste: Two heaped teaspoons of baking powder and one teaspoon of water create the ideal mixture for removing scratches on a phone screen.

Step 1: Clean the display
First, make sure your surroundings are clean and clean the mobile screen before you start removing scratches with baking powder.

Step 2: Tape over any openings in the mobile phone
Next, tape over all of the major smartphone openings so that none of the baking powder paste can get inside your mobile phone. Seal the charging connection, the SIM card slot, microphone, loudspeaker and, if available, also the headphone socket and the memory card slot.

Step 3: Apply baking powder paste
Now apply a small amount of baking powder paste to the scratches on the phone screen that you want to remove.

Step 4: Polish out scratches on the phone screen with baking powder
Take a clean microfibre cloth and polish the prepared areas of the display thoroughly in circular motions. Do not perform this step with paper towels, as these can leave residues behind after polishing.

Step 5: Remove the baking powder paste
After polishing, remove any remaining baking powder paste from the display and check the affected area. Were you able to remove the scratches on the phone screen on the first attempt? Great, then you’re done. If, however, marks are still visible, apply baking powder paste again and polish the area one more time.
Remove deep scratches from a display
Household products are excellent for removing slight scratches on a phone screen. However, if you want to remove deep scratches from a display, this is often no longer possible by polishing with household products.
If your efforts with toothpaste or baking powder prove unsuccessful, you can take your phone to a mobile phone workshop. Among other things, they use professional polishing paste, which can even remove deeper scratches from a phone screen. However, if this is also unsuccessful, the display is usually replaced instead of removing the deep scratches from the mobile screen.
