Speed: How many watts do I need?

Are you wondering which induction charger you need? Here you will find an overview of what speeds are suitable for which devices.

  • 5 watts

Inductive chargers with 5 watts as the maximum power output are suitable both for smartphones and for peripheral devices that support wireless charging. For example, gentle inductive charging at 5 watts can also be provided for wireless in-ear headphones, smart watches or fitness bracelets.

  • 10 watts

A Qi charger with 10 watts is a real all-rounder when it comes to inductive charging stations for smartphones. You’ll be doing everything right with this speed. The Hama wireless chargers with 10W can even identify whether a smartphone only supports slower speeds. The power is thus adapted if necessary, for instance to 7.5 watts.

  • 15 watts

A fast induction charger with 15 watts is only necessary if your mobile phone also supports this speed. This is the case, for instance, for new iPhones with MagSafe. Among other things, these can be conveniently charged with Hama MagCharge charging stations with at least 7.5 watts and a maximum power output of up to 15 watts.

Important features

Size of the charging surface

The larger the charging surface, the more precisely you can position your smartphone on the inductive charging station. This is important for optimal charging.

Standing or lying?

Do you want to watch videos while charging? There are suitable wireless chargers for this from Hama, into which you can insert your device. However, flat inductive charging stations save space.

Number of coils

If a Qi charger has several induction coils, you can position your mobile phone more flexibly, such as in portrait and landscape. The power of the wireless charger with Qi is retained.

Table or car?

There are inductive chargers for the car from Hama especially for use on the go. These models hold your smartphone securely throughout the journey and charge it gently at the same time.

Connection

A power adapter with Qualcomm Quick Charge or Power Delivery is required for wireless chargers over 10 watts. All of the sets include a suitable power adapter for the respective Hama Qi charger.

How many devices?

Are you looking for an inductive charger for multiple devices? Then, a duostation, for example, is a possibility, or a multi-charger to charge an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods at the same time.

Various charging technologies charge smartphones wirelessly

Differences between brands

Thanks to the introduction of the widespread Qi standard, you can use a Hama wireless charger to charge all common smartphones that support wireless charging. So, it doesn’t matter whether you are looking for a Qi charging station for Samsung, want to charge your Xiaomi smartphone wirelessly or would like a Qi charger for your iPhone. Every inductive charger from Hama is suitable for this. Even iPhones that support MagSafe can be easily charged without a cable with MagCharge charging stations from Hama and are attached magnetically, without needing a MagSafe charger from Apple.
